The (Allentown) Morning Call says an administrative law judge on Tuesday gave lawyers for UGI Utilities and the state Public Utility Commission until Oct. 5 to come up with a schedule for litigating the case.
The commission has blamed a crack in a cast-iron distribution line, cited multiple safety violations and recommended corrective action and a $386,000 fine.
The Reading-based company said in legal papers Friday that its program for sampling gas odors complies with regulations and levels in the pipe were adequate. It says the pipeline that burst in February 2011 wasn't "a candidate for immediate replacement."
