Novelty grenade sparks police response in NE Phila.

Police were called to a home in Northeast Philadelphia on Wednesday morning for what turned out to be a novelty grenade.

The incident happened just before 11:00 a.m. in the 700 block of Brighton Street.

That's when detectives from Montgomery County came to serve a warrant and saw what appeared to be a grenade.

It didn't take long before investigators determined the device was a fake.

No one was injured in this incident.

There was no word on why a warrant was being served.
