The incident happened at 12:45 p.m. at the Ocean City Municipal Airport at 26th and Bay Avenue in Ocean City.
The view from Chopper 6 HD showed the plane at rest in the grass more than an hour later.
No injuries were reported.
Ocean City Police say the FAA is handling the investigation.
