Pilot, co-pilot walk away from Pa. plane crash

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - October 12, 2102

The Piper Cherokee aircraft had taken off Friday evening from Lehigh Valley International Airport near Allentown.

There were reports that witnesses heard a sputtering sound before the plane went down.

Emergency responders were searching woods and fields for the wreckage when the pilot and co-pilot walked out onto a nearby road.

Airport spokeswoman Susan Kittle says an investigation will be conducted.
