Residents evacuated in 2-alarm Camden fire

At least nine people had to be evacuated during a two-alarm fire in Camden.

It happened around 2:35 Sunday morning on the 100 block of North 23rd Street.

Arriving fire crews reported heavy flames shooting from the upper floors of the residence. As the flames intensified, a 2nd alarm was struck.

Several people were evacuated from neighboring homes but no injuries were reported.

So far no word if the original building was occupied.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
