Police fire on 2 pit bulls in SW Philadelphia

Philadelphia police say an officer fired on two pit bulls in Southwest Philadelphia Tuesday morning.

According to officials, police responded to a domestic incident just before 5:30 a.m. in the 5300 block of Chestnut Street.

Police say two pit bulls charged at an officer and he fired his weapon.

The dogs appeared not to be hit and ran from the scene.

The police officer was not injured.
