New Castle County Police say they were called to the scene of the shooting Monday evening around 6:18 p.m. Police say when they arrived at Birkshire Road and North Kingston Road in the community of Oakmont they found the 25-year-old with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was taken to a hospital.
Police did not release the man's name or say what may have led to the shooting.
