Jail says it can't care for quadriplegic inmate

READING, Pa. (AP) - October 25, 2012

Officials at Berks County Prison requested the release 51-year-old Euseveo Trinidad after keeping him in custody for six days on a charge of obstructing a highway. Trinidad was also being held for nonpayment of fines.

The Reading Eagle reports prosecutors agreed to have Trinidad's bail modified with the condition that he would be returned to jail if he violated any other laws.

Laureldale police say they've received about 50 complaints about Trinidad in the last two years, including a time he backed up traffic while driving his wheelchair in circles on a busy street.

A phone listing for Trinidad could not be located.
