Roommate charged in Pa. shallow grave killing

LAKE HARMONY, Pa. (AP) -October 25, 2012

Authorities say 28-year-old Michael Rhubart killed roommate Jubar Hughes with a shotgun and hid his body in a shallow grave off an ATV trail in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains.

Rhubart, of Effort, Monroe County, was arrested Wednesday night on charges including criminal homicide and aggravated assault. He's being held without bail.

Investigators say Rhubart and Hughes, previously of Newark, N.J., were roommates. Court documents allege Rhubart admitted killing Hughes.

Hughes' body was discovered Monday in an isolated area of Carbon County.

Court records don't list an attorney for Rhubart.
