Man charged with human trafficking in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA - October 26, 2012

According to officials, Ferraro lured a 17-year-old girl to Philadelphia from Minnesota on promises that he would take care of her and help her find a job.

Instead, he took semi-nude photos of the teen and posted her for sale on Craigslist. He prostituted her out for over a week.

Police say Ferraro repeatedly raped the victim and if she didn't comply, he threatened to put her out on the streets of Philadelphia.

The teen was finally located by her parents with the help of the police and was able to return home.

Ferraro is being held without bail and is facing a list of charges including human trafficking and rape.

He was already on probation for multiple counts of theft and for running an apartment rental scam on Craigslist.

Investigators are concerned there may be more victims, and anyone with information on Ferraro should contact the District Attorney's Office at 215-686-5874.
