The winds from Hurricane Sandy caused a tree to fall on a man outside a Burlington County home.

The incident occurred just after 6:00 p.m. on the 1200 block of High Street.

Michelle Vazquez tells Action News she and her husband went to her neighbors' home to warn them of the tree in her backyard that looked to be coming down.

Vazquez says when a 26-year-old man came out of the home to look at the tree, the tree fell on him.

"Before you know it, the ground lifted higher and we started yelling, and the tree came down and trapped the neighbor under it," Vazquez said.

The 26-year-old suffered a broken ankle.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The 26-year-old's family was rescued from the home.

No other injuries were reported.
