Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter paused with grade school students at Samuel Power Elementary in Mantua Friday morning.
Mayor Nutter said his thoughts were with the parents of the young victims in Connecticut, and he hopes to make Philadelphia safer for all children.
The observance turned into a celebration of life as students turned to music to celebrate their annual winter concert.
