Police reunite stolen dog with owner

WILMINGTON, Del. - December 24, 2012

According to authorities Noel the dog was found in the area of 29th and Jefferson and turned in at the Wilmington Police Station shortly after 5:00 p.m. today.

The Action Cam was there for the reuniting of Noel and her owner Carol Dougherty.

"This is fantastic. I didn't know if I would get it before Christmas or after Christmas, but just as long as I have her, that's all that counts," Dougherty said.

The theft happened Friday night in the 900 block of DuPont Street in Wilmington.

Dougherty told police she left her dog, Noel, inside her car when she went inside Saint Anthony's Church.

When she came out, she says her car and her dog were gone.

Police found the car Saturday morning, but Noel was missing until Monday afternoon.

Dougherty saw today's snow as a sign that Noel was coming back.

"[I thought] I was going to have a Christmas miracle," Dougherty said.
