Snow blamed for overturned truck on Pa. Turnpike

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - December 29, 2012

The National Weather Service says almost five inches of snow has been reported in Tioga County and more than 4½ inches in parts of Centre and Clinton counties.

Heavy snow is being blamed for an accident involving a tractor trailer in Easton, Northampton County Saturday afternoon.

The big rig rolled over on Route 33 in Bethlehem Township just after noon.

Fortunately nobody was hurt, but the mess snarled traffic for several hours.

Pennsylvania Turnpike officials have imposed a 45 mph speed limit on almost 300 miles of the turnpike from the Ohio line to the Morgantown Interchange.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation says drivers are temporarily being held to a maximum 45 mph on interstates 78, 80, 81 and 380 as well as other eastern Pennsylvania roads.

A Philadelphia International Airport spokeswoman says the airport has been seeing delays of a little over an hour, mostly on arriving flights.
