Man trapped after car crash in Toms River

TOMS RIVER, N.J. - February 8, 2013

The crash happened around 9:00 p.m. on Yorktown Boulevard in the Holiday City community.

Police say a 63-year-old man was driving eastbound when his 2008 Cadillac left the road and struck a tree near Hovsons Boulevard.

The vehicle traveled 45 feet and overturned, trapping the victim inside until he could be rescued, police said.

He was treated by medics at the scene and then flown to the Jersey Shore Trauma Center. There is no word on his condition.

Anyone with information should contact Sergeant Keith Diehl and Traffic Safety Officer Steven Schwartz who are investigating the crash.
