The blaze broke out around 3:30 a.m. along the 5200 block of North Sydenham Street.
Fire crews arrived to heavy flames showing on the first floor of the house.
It took about 25 minutes to place the fire under control.
One firefighter injured his arm, while another firefighter, a 9-year-old child and a man in his 40s suffered from smoke inhalation, officials say.
None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
