The shooting happened just before 1:30 p.m. in the 200 block of North Wanamaker Street.
Police say the victim was struck in the right forehead and once in the right thumb.
He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is listed in stable condition.
There is no word on if the victim was targeted.
No arrests have been made.
