Corbett calls for liquor bill, signals flexibility

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - June 12, 2013

The Republican governor held a brief news conference in the Capitol on Wednesday at which he said he wants a privatization bill out of the Senate that's "close enough" that he can then engage in final negotiations with senators and the state House.

He says his "ears are open" and that his administration "will listen to everything."

The House has passed a privatization bill, and a leading state senator's proposal is expected to be released next week.

A sticking point could be whether the state sells off its wholesale operations. Corbett says he thinks that's in the state's best interests.
