It happened just before 4:00 p.m. along the inner lanes of the Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia's Oxford Circle section.
Detectives say the motorcyclist hit the rear of the truck near Pratt Street.
He was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center for treatment.
The box truck driver was not hurt.
