The blaze broke out around 4:45 a.m. inside a 3-story home on the unit block of Stratford Avenue.
When fire crews arrived heavy fire could be seen coming from the attic area and roof.
The home sustained significant damage to the upper floors.
There are no reports of injuries. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
