Woman fatally struck by train in Center City

PHILADELPHIA - June 28, 2013

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority spokesman Andrew Bush says the woman was hit as a westbound train on the Market-Frankford Line pulled into the station around 10 p.m. Tuesday. He says it wasn't immediately clear if she jumped or fell on the tracks, but that foul play isn't suspected.

Service was halted as authorities investigated at the scene. The woman's name and age weren't released.

It marked the ninth rail death on SEPTA's tracks this year.
