Gunman shoots victim in failed attempt to steal iPhone

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - July 10, 2013

It was 5:26 on the morning of June 26, 2013 when the 26-year-old victim said he was approached by a man with a gun on the 1600 block of 7th Street, demanding he hand over his iPhone.

Refusing to surrender the phone, a struggle began between the two men, during which the suspect fired his handgun several times, striking the victim once in his chest.

The gunman then fled south on 7th Street.

The suspect is described as black male, 30 years-of-age, thin build, 160 pounds, clean shaven, close cut hair, brown complexion, last seen wearing light colored shorts and a brown t-shirt.
