Lancaster Co. man who shot girlfriend's parents loses appeal

LANCASTER, Pa. - July 12, 2013

The Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era reports the state Superior Court this week rejected David Ludwig's latest appeal, which included a request that he be treated as a juvenile because he was 18 at the time.

In November 2005, Ludwig shot Michael and Cathryn Borden inside their Warwick Township home. Police say he opened fire after Michael Borden said he was no longer allowed to date his 14-year-old daughter.

After the killings, Ludwig and the girl fled before being arrested in Indiana. The girl was not harmed and wasn't charged.

Ludwig pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two consecutive life terms.
