The Cronut Craze!
When Dominique Ansel Bakery in NYC released the cronut….a croissant donut hybrid pastry….this spring, people went crazy, waiting in line as long as 5 hours and even buying and selling the cronuts on Craig's list! It was such a hit Ansel even trademarked the cronut name! Well look out. Philly has its own version of this crème de la crème and it's called the Swiss Cro-Crème. Don't even ask how many calories it has. Just savor the vanilla pastry cream-filled, butter-laden goodness of it. Cronuts hit the shelves at 10am daily but you can pre-order to ensure you don't miss out. But plan ahead. Right now, there's a 3 day wait!
