The accident happened around 10:45 p.m. along the 1500 block of Capital Trail.
Police are looking into reports that the cyclist believed to be in his 30's was travelling at a high rate of speed when he collided with the vehicle.
He was rushed to Christiana Hospital for care and authorities say, he was wearing a helmet.
There are reports that the vehicle involved in the crash left the scene.
Police are investigating the incident.
