A Pennsylvania police chief, who is also a school board member, is now defending some disturbing home videos that surfaced on the internet.

In a clip posted to the video sharing site YouTube, Officer Mark Kessler of Gilberton, Schuylkill County can be seen firing off dozens of rounds from an assault rifle. The video is also laced with profanities and anti-government rants.

In addition to being an officer of the law and a school board member, Kessler is also head of a civilian militia.

He says the videos are simply an exercise of his first amendment rights. But many people are now calling for him to hand in his badge.

So far, Kessler remains on the job.
