Sex after heart atttack: what's right for women

WASHINGTON, D.C.; July 24, 2013

But as more and more realize that women have heart attacks, too, are they having the same conversation?

No, says a small study. Researchers interviewed 17 women, and found that they and their partners are having a particularly hard time talking about resuming their sex life.

Most women said they are too shy to bring up the topic with their doctors.

They hope their doctos will ask, but few do.

According to experts, if the doctor clears you for exercise, you're probably ready for sex, too.

For most women, sex is safe after a couple of weeks.

But the bottom line - women should speak up about sex on doctor visits.
