Bees delay flight

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - July 25, 2013

A US Airways Express flight had to leave three hours late from Charlotte, North Carolina because a swarm of bees kept crews from rolling the plane back from the gate.

A spokesman for the airline says Flight 2690 was boarded and ready to leave when a worker noticed the bees near the device that pushes a jet back from the gate.

The operator was afraid of being stung.

A beekeeper had to be summoned to round up the bees.

None of the bees got inside the cabin, and no injuries were reported.
