Gas main capped, evacuations lifted at West Chester University

Gas main struck at West Chester University

A gas main was capped and evacuations were lifted after a the main was struck on the campus of West Chester University.

Workers hit a one-inch gas main at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday in the area of 115 West Rosedale Avenue near Killinger Hall.

Security evacuated everyone who was in the five buildings.

Peco was called to shut off the gas main.

Everyone was allowed back into the buildings shortly after 1:00 p.m.

No injuries were reported.
