Lawsuit claims Poconos Raceway doesn't comply with ADA

SCRANTON, Pa. - August 1, 2013

The Pocono Record reports a federal lawsuit filed this week by New Jersey nonprofit advocacy group Independence Project and race fan Ronald Moore asks a judge to order the track in Long Pond to make changes to comply with ADA.

Among its complaints, the suit alleges the track fails to provide striped accessible parking for the disabled and has building ramps without required handrails. It also says the track has restrooms that are inaccessible to wheelchair users and has grandstand seating without proper sight lines for Moore.

Pocono Raceway attorney Ralph Matergia said Wednesday the track hadn't been served with the complaint, so he couldn't comment.
