More rain in Colorado town hit by deadly mudslide

DENVER - August 12, 2013

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning Monday afternoon, but no flooding was immediately reported. State highway officials closed the main highway through town as a precaution.

Rain falling on an area burned by a wildfire last year triggered flash floods and a mudslide Friday that killed a driver. Another person remains missing.

Earlier Monday, Fire Chief Keith Buckmiller ruled out the possibility that a woman hospitalized for injuries she suffered in the flood was the missing person.

The hospitalized woman had been rescued from a tree. Initial reports had said the missing person was also in a tree, but Buckmiller says that was incorrect.
