Man suspected of gunfire in Wilmington home surrenders

WILMINGTON, Del. - August 18, 2013

Officials say 33-year-old Hassan Muhammad was allowed into the home in the 2900 block of Mendenhall Court around 4:00 Sunday morning.

The man who lives there says that's when Muhammad pulled out a gun and started making threats.

The victim ran from the home and called police.

When officers arrived, they heard repeated gunshots being fired inside.

A short time later, investigators say Muhammad came out, tossed out a gun and surrendered to police.

Officers say some of the bullets pierced a water heater and flooded the apartment, but no one was hurt.

Muhammad was taken into custody and faces a list of charges.
