3 sought in robbery at Kensington restaurant

KENSINGTON - August 23, 2013

The robbery happened at 9:30 p.m. back on Tuesday August 13, 2013, at the Crown Fried Chicken located at 849 East Allegheny Avenue.

Police say the 44-year-old victim was at the counter paying for her order when the three suspects approached the restaurant. Two of the suspects entered the restaurant, and as the woman was handing the employee money for her order, one of the suspects snatched the cash from her hand and ran out of the restaurant.

The other suspects remained at the scene momentarily before they too fled on foot.

One of the suspects is described as a black male, 17-20 years-of-age, 5'3"-5'5", 125 pounds, with a thin build, dark complexion, and was last seen wearing a white polo shirt with red stripes, grey shorts and white sneakers.

That suspect was accompanied by a black male, 18 years-of-age, 5'5"-5'6", 130-140 pounds, with a skinny build, last seen wearing a grey shirt, grey shorts and red sneakers.

Philadelphia police have released video of the incident, which can be viewed on the Philadelphia Police YouTube Channel.
