Man shot dead outside rec center in North Philadelphia

Police say gunfire erupted outside the Hank Gathers Recreation Center at 25th and Diamond Streets after 8:30 p.m. Monday.

The victim was shot multiple times in the chest and back. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators found no murder weapon at the scene.

There was no immediate word on suspects or a motive.
