Police announced Sunday that 21-year-old Tony Mozick Jr. of Leipsic was arrested in connection with the death of 19-year-old Taylor Owens of Dover. Owens was last seen Aug. 31, but human remains were discovered Saturday evening in a wooded area in Leipsic.
Police say that after further investigation, they were able to connect Mozick to Owens' death. Police say there was a physical altercation between the two on Aug. 31 in the residence they shared. Investigators say Mozick tried to dispose of Owens' body by burning it.
Mozick was arrested Sunday morning and is charged with first-degree murder and abusing a corpse.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
