Casual, approachable and affordable dining on the Main Line

WAYNE, Pa. - September 17, 2013

But the space on Lancaster Avenue in Wayne once home to Georges Perrier and his French food predecessor, Helen Sigel Wilson, is now Peppercorn.

A restaurant committed to quality but newly casual, approachable and affordable.

Owner Herb Lotman says the menu ranges from $7.00 to about $40.00...far below the $155.00 per person some of Perrier's restaurants commanded. But the commitment to fresh, first-rate ingredients remains.

Not strictly farm-to-table, the house seeks to buy the best possible products.

The chef's mission is to showcase them, making everything "elevated" but as simple as possible. The bar does the same.

General manager Aaron Kabulich told Action News there's a reason why certain drinks are classics. It's policy to put unique twists on them when appropriate, but not to tamper with their integrity.

Even from day one, patrons have been lining up to sample the new menu. And they're going home happy and wanting more.

There's a trend in the restaurant business toward Center City companies opening up in the suburbs.

Many customers don't spend on parking downtown can buy food and beverages. They also save time commuting.

Still, two out of five customers at Peppercorn are driving in from outside the Main Line.

The restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner...also serving Sunday brunch.

They're closed Mondays.
