Apple fans line up for the new iPhones

ARDMORE, Pa. - September 20, 2013

A man named L'Plaga was the first one in line at the Apple Store in Center City Philadelphia. He got there at 11:00 p.m. Thursday.

He was just one of the many people who camped out overnight to get the new iPhone 5s and 5c .

In Ardmore, they were ready for the crowds with snacks for customers.

While the line stretched around the building early Friday morning, some said coming in the late morning was the way to go.

Jacci Neerland of Ridley, Pa. told us she waited no more than half an hour in line.

At the Christiana Mall in Delaware, there were 3000 people lined up at one point.

One man came all the way from Egypt just to get the phone. He told us he was in this country for just 3 days and is going back home tomorrow.

Not everyone had to wait in line for the new iPhone.

At the Verizon store on City Avenue in Wynnefield Heights the line was pretty small.

"I'm surprised it's not as big. I thought it'd be bigger," said Brian Carney from Manayunk.

Everyone we spoke to said the rush to get the phone is definitely worth it.

"I love the camera, and the camera keeps getting better," said Neerland.

The late word is that the silver and champagne colors are pretty hard to come by. The slate gray is the easiest to get right now.
