The incident happened outside the H-Mart Sunday night.
According to police, the boy had been shopping with his mother and younger brother when Bianca Hernandez walked up to him and attacked the boy.
Authorities say the assault may have been the result of a family dispute.
Hernandez was in possession of two social security cards when she was arrested.
The police have notified immigration and customs officials.
