Man shot during robbery in Frankford

FRANKFORD - November 9, 2013

It happened around 2:45 a.m. Saturday on the 1300 block of Orthodox Street.

Police say the victim, a man in his 20s, was walking when he was approached by the suspects.

One of the suspects pointed a gun and told him to "Give it up."

Authorities say both armed men began to pat down the victim, taking his wallet, keys and a black Sprint ETO HTC Android phone.

A brief struggle ensued and one of the suspects punched the victim in the head. Then a second suspect opened fire, shooting the victim in the thigh.

Both men fled on foot. They were last seen running north on Oakland Street.

The victim was found lying in the middle of the street with a gun beside him. He was taken to Albert Einstein Hospital in stable condition.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the incident is urged to contact police.
