Police say one of the striking vehicles then fled the scene.
It was around 9:30 a.m. when the victim attempted to cross the roadway on the 500 block of Delaware Avenue.
The initial investigation indicates that when man stepped into the roadway in the middle of the block, he was hit by a black colored Nissan traveling eastbound on Delaware Avenue.
The victim then fell to the ground, where he was hit by a light colored minivan.
The driver of the Nissan stopped at the scene, but the minivan fled eastbound on Delaware Avenue.
The victim was transported to Christiana Hospital by Delaware State Police Helicopter.
So far, authorities have not released the victim's name.
