The discovery was made around 3:30 Sunday afternoon off of Jerome Avenue at the base of the Margate Causeway.
Authorities say the victim is a 79-year-old woman from Margate. Her identity has not yet been released.
Investigators do not believe that the woman's death was suspicious.
Officials are waiting for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
