The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and Anderson Street.
A driver in a small pickup truck lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a utility pole with a street light attached.
The impact brought down transformers and caused a power outage.
The truck continued across the intersection, knocking down a large mailbox and a fire hydrant before coming to a stop.
Police say the driver suffered a gash to the head.
Utility crews were called to the scene to make repairs and restore power.
The accident remains under investigation.
