Princeton University announces vaccination dates

PRINCETON, N.J. - November 26, 2013

That's why, on Tuesday, the university announced the dates for vaccinating students against this dangerous illness.

From December 9th through December 12th, students can get vaccinations from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Frist Campus Center.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended that all students who live in the dormitories and those with special medical needs get the vaccine.

This is the vaccine that is approved in Europe and Australia, but it is *not approved here in the United States yet.

However, it is the only vaccine that protects against the B strain.

That is the type of meningitis that infected seven Princeton students and one visitor on campus since March.

Experts say the vaccine is safe and effective.

This will be the first dose. The second dose will be available in February.
