Off-duty officer wounded in accidental shooting

An off-duty police officer was wounded in an accidental shooting early Sunday morning in Camden County, New Jersey.

The incident happened at 2:15 a.m. at a home in Bromley Drive in Gloucester Township.

Investigators say a Gloucester Township Police officer accidentally shot himself in the hand.

He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Authorities say the officer was unloading the gun when it went off.

The incident remains under investigation by Gloucester Township Police and the Camden County Prosecutors Office.
