Worker killed after becoming trapped in rock salt pile in Bucks County

FALLS TOWNSHIP, Pa. - January 2, 2014

It happened Thursday afternoon at the G.R.O.W.S. Landfill on Bordentown Road in Falls Township.

Police tell Action News the worker was operating a machine around 3:30 p.m. when he became trapped in a mound of salt estimated to be about 100 feet high.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene.

The Bucks County coroner was dispatched to the scene.

There was no immediate word how the worker became trapped.
