Police say a box truck driver suspected of DUI crashed into several cars and a house in the city's Bridesburg section early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened around 2:00 a.m. on the 4200 block Richmond Street.

According to police, the driver ran into three cars, knocking one car into a fire hydrant.

Fortunately, no water came out.

The box truck then hit the front room of a house where a 79- year-old disabled woman was sitting.

She was not injured in the crash.

A police officer came to the aid of the driver in the box truck.

Philadelphia police Chief Inspector Scott Small says, "The driver appeared to be intoxicated, so the officer took him into custody and he's under arrest for drunk driving."
