It happened about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Helzberg Diamonds on Concord Pike.
Police say an employee was getting ready to close the store when two masked men approached. They were joined by three other men.
Troopers say one of the men tried to pull the door open, but the employee was able to lock it. One of the men showed the employee a handgun, but she ran to the back of the store and called 911.
The men then fled.
