Jamie Schare Friedland filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Superior Court in Newark this week in the death of her husband, Dustin Friedland.
The 30-year-old from Hoboken was shot in the head December 15 in front of his wife as the couple returned to their Range Rover in the parking deck of The Mall at Short Hills.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages. It alleges the mall's operator, Michigan-based Taubman Centers Inc., reduced security to increase its profits.
