Philadelphia police are looking into whether drunk driving is to be blamed for an early Saturday morning crash in the East Falls section.

The accident occurred around 5:15 a.m. along Ridge and Allegheny Avenues.

A driver lost control of his Nissan Pathfinder and crashed into a pole, bringing down wires, police say.

Wires were spread across both avenues which force police to close parts of the roads.

They say the traffic light also stopped working after the crash.

The driver was taken to Temple Hospital with non-life threatening injures.

Police say he will be tested for DUI.

PECO arrived to make repairs and the roads were reopened.
