Several rescued from roof of burning North Philadelphia house

PHILADELPHIA - March 20, 2014

The blaze broke out around 2:30 a.m. on the 1700 block of West Lehigh Avenue.

Firefighters arrived to heavy flames and smoke showing from the second floor.

Crews had to rescue those two residents with ladders from the roof area.

Those two residents were taken to Temple University Hospital for observation.

It took less than a half hour to get the fire under control.

So far, there is no word on what sparked the blaze.

A total of seven people were displaced by the fire.
